Good Day! I have a model 55U67KUA smart T V. I love it except for one issue that is reoccurring no matter what I do. Let me explain.....

I go to update apps. They will not update and a message is given that there is not enough external storage to allow them to update. First off there are no extra apps loaded. I factory reset the TV and am starting over because of this message. Figure I will add apps after everything is updated. But TV refuses to update apps that need it. Tried auto update and manual. No dice. So I read that adding a USB will solve the memory issue. I get a USB. PNY Brand as I wanted a dependable USB. Format the USB. Put it in the TV then turned the TV on. TV said to format it for storage? I say yes. Then before the drive is done being formatted, I get a USB is corrupt message. I have tried a half dozen new USB drives. I get the same results. What gives? I have the latest firmware update but I am downloading the two firmware updates from the Hisense site and will try each one to see if I can get a USB to take. I still have over 19 gig of storage on the TV so I do not understand the "Not enough memory" message. And like I said, there are no apps to be able to uninstall as I have not loaded anything yet! Maybe someone here can advise. Or if it is a bug, maybe another firmware update will fix the issue. Thanks and have a great day!

Hi @stone1150..!!

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue. Here are some steps to help troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem with your Hisense 55U67KUA smart TV

1. Check Internal Storage under Settings > Storage to confirm the available internal storage.

2. Format USB on a Computer: Format the USB drive on a computer to FAT32 or NTFS. Insert the USB, right-click in File Explorer, select Format, choose FAT32 or NTFS, and click Start.

3. Try using a different brand of USB, like SanDisk or Kingston, to check if the issue is resolved.

4. Ensure your TV firmware is up-to-date from the Hisense website.

5. Install a few essential apps manually before updating pre-installed ones.

6. Clear Cache/Data by going to Settings > Apps > Manage Apps, select the problematic app and choose Clear Cache and Clear Data.

7. Download the latest firmware from Hisense, transfer it to a USB, and follow the on-screen instructions to update.

8. Reach out to Hisense support if the problem persists.

These steps should help resolve your Hisense TV's storage and app update issues. Let me hear back from you if this has helped you out.

@ruben checked internal memory. Only 1.5 gig out of 19 used. Did the computer format thing several times. Loaded other apps. Then out of desperation, just ignored the corruption message and transferred data anyway. I guess it is working as the notification dot is gone and TV sees the USB. Now if I can only figure out how to time shift? Or maybe this model doesn't do that. The main reason I wanted to put a USB in to begin with was to hopefully have the pause and resume on live TV. But it's not a deal breaker. Around here they have activated the ATSC 3.0 features. Two stations have started it. Love it! I would like to thank you for your attention in this matter. People like you are a big help to an old man like me!  🙂  if you have any info on activating a pvr feature on this set, great. If it is not available on this model then it is what it is. Thank you again! Have a wonderful day!        Stone.

Hi @stone1150..!!

I'm glad to hear the USB is now recognized! Regarding the time-shift feature, many Hisense models support PVR (Personal Video Recorder) functions, but it depends on the specific model and region.

  • Check User Manual: Verify if your model supports PVR. The user manual or Hisense support can provide specific details.
  • Enable Time-Shift: Go to Settings > System > Time-Shift or PVR to enable the feature, if available.
  • Compatible USB: Ensure the USB drive is compatible and has enough speed and storage capacity for recording.

If these steps don’t work, it might be that your model doesn't support this feature. Hisense support can confirm this for you.

Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad I could assist you. Have a wonderful day.
