G'day all in this place hopefully of experience and knowledge 🙂

A year ago I bought a 32A4KAU being a 32" model as a replacement bedroom TV.  Almost from the moment I opened the box I was unhappy.  The remote control had much wasted button space for 12 streaming services.   I just want a TV for free to air (FTA).

Next, the User Manual (Quick setup guide) was and still is almost useless.  It names all important buttons but does not explain how to use them.  It is a multi-step process to get to 'settings' after clicking the Home button, then scrolling left a few times before any Menus appear.

The first time I turned on the TV all of the colours were over-driven and garish.   I was able to fix that, or at least make it better 🙂

Setting up tuning was another pain... and still is.   Auto-tune gave me all of the digital FTA channels but there is no analogue option.  To get analogue I have to set up a Fav group and then I have to manually select/add all of the digital channels.

To switch between the auto-tuned digitals group and my Fav group is a multi-step process beginning with the CHLIST button and then more menu scrolling.

My critical analogue channel I want is my Foxtel Box that is injected into my TV antenna Amp as analogue channel 5.   This is how I get Foxtel to the distant bedroom.

The first problem is having said analogue channel as the first Fav entry is its auto-allocation of Hisense Ch 1 and then I have a sequence of digital FTA  channels that follow as 2, 3, 4, etc.   The problem is those numbers bear no relationship to the actual channel numbers of 20, 70, 90, etc.   As a smart TV I figured I could edit the channel numbers... but NO 😪

To get the real channel numbers I must use the auto-tune default group and that works fine... except I cannot include my Foxtel analogue channel.

So we put up with using my Fav manually configured group containing digital and 1 analogue but the wrong digital channel numbers.   That is sort of OK until I accidently hit the 'Go Back' button then the TV reverts to the 'Digital Only' default group.  When this happens I have to jump through hoops via the CHLIST button to get back to my Fav group.

When I set this up I renamed Fav 1 as .Fox and Fav 2 as .TV using the leading . to keep them at the head of the list.  Now I cannot find where to edit those names.

In summary I have hated this Hisense from the day I bought it for the reasons listed.  We use it in bed every morning around 0530 and nigh time for the news around 2130.

I'm amazed how a smart TV cannot offer more configuration options.

I have been an Electronics Tech for nearly 60 years and with 40 years of computer experience.  So I don't think ignorance is my issue 😏

If any of you learned people have any useful config advice I would greatly appreciate same.

Regards, Tom
