Hi,

Impossible to use corectly DLNA on my Hisense 55U8KQ. My DLNA network (UMS) works with my OPPO Blu Ray platine but not with my TV. Conection is OK, i can navigate on folders, but read something is allmost impossible. Videos are visible but unreadable. Chargement is very long and finish with "incompatible format". Sometimes that seems working but the duration of video is wrong, luminosity is very dark, pictures are bad, impossible to move on video.

Musique (mp3 an FLAC) is unreadable, photo doesn't appear.

I have search another application to use DLNA on the TV, but not find it.

(Sorry for bad english)

Hi @oregos..!!

The following steps will help you fix DLNA issues with the Hisense 55U8KQ:

  • Begin by updating your Hisense TV firmware with the latest version.
  • Check the Hisense manual for supported video, audio, and photo formats. Ensure your files are compatible.
  • Configure the Universal Media Server on your PC, ensure TV is detected in General Settings, and adjust Transcoding Settings.
  • Try using a wired ethernet connection instead of using WIFI.
  • Opt-in for DLNA alternatives like Plex or use a USB drive to play files on the TV.
  • Contact Hisense support if any of the above fixes don't resolve the DLNA problem on your Hisense TV.

Let me know if you still need any further support.

Hi Ruben,

Thanks for answer.

I already udpate my TV and i use ethernet connection. My TV is detected in UMS.

I don't find any mention of supported format in the user manual but i find it on the website.

Witch transcoding setting use in UMS to be compatible with the TV ?

What is "Plex" ?

GREG

Hi @oregos..!!

Great to hear you've made some progress. Here are additional details:

1. Transcoding Settings in UMS:

  • Open UMS and go to the Transcoding Settings tab.
  • Select a compatible video codec (like H.264) and audio codec (like AAC) that your TV supports.
  • Ensure the resolution and bitrate are set to values supported by your TV.

2. Plex:

  • Plex is a media server application that organizes your media files and streams them to various devices, including smart TVs. It often has better compatibility and user experience than DLNA.
  • You can download Plex on your PC and install the Plex app on your Hisense TV from the app store.

By configuring UMS with the correct transcoding settings and considering Plex as an alternative, you should be able to improve your media streaming experience.

Let me know if you need further assistance..!!
